So if you’re strawberry-picking plans have been foiled by the rain get in contact with the farms to see if there are any other fruit-picking activities or farm attractions that are still available. Fruit picking farms typically have a wide range of crops to choose from, all year round. Summertime is perfect for berries, Autumn is ideal for pumpkins and Winter is a wonderful time to hunt for Christmas trees!<\/p>\n

When picking fresh fruit make sure to pick the ripest ones. This may seem like a no-brainer but sometimes people may think if they pick less ripe fruit, the fruit will ripen after being picked and will last longer – this is not the case. Entry fees will vary from farm to farm but most are free. If there are entry fees they are very low in price. Your carton\/basket of fruit will be weighed in the farm shop and you will pay for what you pick based on the weight.
