The only restriction (for the horse’s sake) is weight.<\/strong> As long as you are 14 stone or under you can ride off into the sunset… with your handler leading you there safely of course!<\/p>\n

\n This once-in-a-lifetime experience takes 2 – 3 hours and begins at The Peep Out Yard in Ludgvan. Here you meet with the CSH team and the Swimming Horses and we chat to ensure we know exactly what kind of experience you are after. \n Yes, exhilarating beach rides are magical but if you’re after something a little more out of the ordinary then it’s time you headed out to sea on horseback!<\/p>\n

It’s perfect for beginners and experienced riders<\/strong>, you\u2019ll get to hop up onto your ride and set off towards the beach riding bareback. Start off building your confidence as you play around in the shallows with your horse friend. Once you’re comfortable enough, you’ll swim further out into the sea.<\/p>\n

When you first arrive at the beach you’ll get to pick your swimming horse and complete a safety briefing. As your handler leads your horse to water, you’ll start to remove your helmet and footwear and enter the sea separately from the horse. Your horse will get to play in the shallows first until it is settled.<\/p>\n

Once the horse is settled and you’re feeling happy, you can go deeper into the sea and begin your swim with the horse. No two swims are the same, they are unique to you and your abilities.<\/strong> Sea conditions and weather are also a big factor during your ride.<\/p>\n

If you have your own wetsuits and helmets make sure to bring them but if not, no worries, you can borrow these items of clothing. \n ornwall Swimming Horses specialise in providing bespoke riding experiences for experienced riders. Experienced riders can come here and have a ride, either one to one, or in a small group (4 clients maximum) and enjoy the freedom that usually only comes with riding your own horse.<\/p>\n

All you need to do is turn up, be happy and relax into your ride. If you’ve got kids they’ll need to be at least 16 years old to ride in the on-land experiences like this one.<\/p>\n

\n Swimming with Horses costs \u00a3170 per horse per session.<\/p>\n

Each horse has their own trained handler and for \u00a3170 you’ll get 2 and 3hrs of quality time with your sea horse. The maximum number of horses on one swim is 4.
