Why is Puppy Yoga A ‘Thing’?

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”25px”][vc_column_text css=””]In a nutshell, puppy yoga is designed to improve people’s mental health. Studies have proven that just 10 minutes with a dog can significantly impact your mood by reducing levels of cortisol (stress levels). Yoga is known for increasing flexibility, muscle strength, respiration, and energy and it also helps balance your metabolism. How neat!

Feeling better physically has positive effects on your mental health, too. So, if we pair the positive boost you get from interacting with puppies and the positive physical effects of gentle yoga, you get a very happy person. Well, that’s the idea anyway!

Puppy yoga first began in America around 2002, and soon washed up on British shores in 2004. Since then it has slowly taken off, and not just with puppies but with other animals too! People can attend kitten yoga, goat yoga and more.
