Looking for an animal experience in Doncaster that will take your breath away? Satisfy your appetite for adventure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Yorkshire Wildlife Park has a fascinating and diverse family of animals from leopards, red pandas, giraffes, hyenas, sea lions, polar bears, lions, armadillos, Gelada Monkeys, Oryx and many more exotic animals!

One of the most exciting animal experiences is Project Polar. It’s the largest polar bear exhibit outside of Canada!  Home to 8 wonderful Polar Bears, families can watch how the ‘The Boys’ (Nobby, Hamish, Luka & Sisu) and the rest of the polar bear fam, interact with one another. You won’t see anything like this in the UK, or even Europe! It’s one of the world’s leading centres for Polar Bear welfare and conservation. You can watch fascinating ranger talks about these magnificent creatures too.

Another one of Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s impressive animal enclosures is Point Lobos. Point Lobos, meaning ‘point of sea wolves’ is a Spanish term used to describe sea lions. Kids can watch the Californian Sea Lions in the largest built sea lion habitat in the world! Designed to match the California Coastline, kids can learn about the importance of sea lions in the marine ecosystem. Watch them meander, dive and sunbathe on the red Californian rocks or attend the daily ranger talks!

Do you like monkeying around? Yorkshire Wildlife Park has a dazzling family of monkeys ranging from baboons, Cotton-Top Tamarins, Saki Monkeys and Gelada Monkeys! Each of these similar, yet vastly different creatures are always a hit with families. Baboons are very similar to humans as they are both curious and intelligent creatures. They communicate through complex vocal and visual displays to show their feelings – how crazy is that? Your child will be amazed watching and learning about each fascinating monkey, drawing parallels between human behaviour and monkey behaviour. If you look closely, you might even see them raise their eyebrows at each other – we are not joking.

The conservation of animals is at the heart of the safari park which is why the regular ranger talks are so regular and fascinating to attend. Kids can learn more than just quirky facts about their favourite animals. They will be told the reality of each animal’s future on Earth and the importance of protecting and respecting wildlife, so that it can flourish.

There are daily ranger talks typically held at each animal enclosure throughout the day. Always check with the park or online, what time the talks are held. There might be two talks a day for one enclosure or just the one, so if you have a favourite animal, make sure you check the times so you don’t miss it!

If your cheeky monkeys need to blow off some steam then they will LOVE the Uproar! Play Barn. Jurassic themed and epic to its core, the Play Barn is the ultimate soft play experience!

Listen to the earth-shattering dinosaurs around you. Come face to face with a roaring Tyrannosaurus Rex and watch out for Pterodactyls – they are soaring across the skies… This fully immersive indoor play area is bought to life by 3D dinosaurs, surround sound and vibrant colours.
