Attraction Information
Treat yourselves to a delightfully peaceful adventure under the watchful eye of Mr Warrell and well welcomed aboard the Lady Ann: a traditional wooden Broads built pleasure boat exploring Horsey Mere, an underrated part of the Norfolk Broads.
It's no small part of the Gap's attraction that between December and March, the lovely beach at Horsey plays host to many hundreds of seals that come here to breed. So it's wonderful for photos, but perhaps don't let the kids zoom in! The tours are generally an hour long which is an ideal duration for families with young ones. Or fidgety ones. Or both!
Then between May and September families can enjoy an informal all weather wildlife tour departing from the staithe by Horsey Windpump. (Yes, it's a real name, and yes, we thought ' horse beans?' as well.) The eponymous Ross will guide your eye in friendly fashion toward the unique flora and fauna that have made this part of Norfolk so famous, plus herons, bitterns and oodles of dragonflies. There are also early morning and evening private tour hire available, if you fancy that sunrise or sunset just to yourselves.
