So, shall we get into it already?!
Things to do
Your family expedition will open up a treasure trove of activities that span both ends of the adventure spectrum... Start with a guided tour into the depths of the mine, where you'll follow in the footsteps of miners who extracted slate formed over 450 million years - cor blimey! This subterranean journey, led by knowledgeable guides, promises a rich historical and geological experience.
Reaching for the sky - quite literally - is the award-winning Via Ferrata. This was historically the path that miners would navigate, climbing up and over the mine's daunting outer incline using a series of built-in ladders. A thrill-seeking experience, indeed! Fear not, however, as this trail is absolutely safe. It's open for young adventurers (aged 10 and above) to experience.
For those wanting an even more unique climbing experience, take on the 'Climb the Mine' adventure. This activity allows you to scale the inner walls of the mine itself and safely explore deep into the mine caverns. You'll conquer a series of thrilling obstacles along the way that will push your limits, including ladders, a wire bridge, zip wire and Tarzan swing.
Other adrenaline-fuelled activities at Honister include The Innity Bridge - Europe's longest high-wire bridge that's suspended 1,000ft above the valley floor and a wet Canyoning adventure. Make a day of it with their All Day Pass and try a few activities for an action-packed day out. Tour the depths of a traditional mine Dare your way onto the Via Ferrata Learn loads in a sensory adventure.
