Holkham Hall is a coastal treasure and wonderful day out for the family. Discover the brand new Field to Fork exhibition. Who knew farming could be so much fun? Its great entertainment for all ages and educational too with plenty of interaction to keep children amused and to learn about farming and where your food comes from.
History can be made fun too with a visit to the grand 18th century Holkham Hall using the Discovery Trail quiz - watch the beautiful fountain in full flow, see the bed that the young Princess Victoria slept in and marvel at the numerous copper pots and pans in the Old Kitchen.
There's plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature at its best; follow the way-marked walks to explore the scenic parkland with its herd of deer roaming freely, or on high days and holidays the whole family can hire cycles to venture further.
There's a chance to paddle around Holkham Lake on a canoe or kayak and in high season, a touch of water zorbing will provide thrills and spills. Families will also love the Woodland Adventure Play Area, with its tree houses, high level walkways, rope-ladders and zip wire, plus a special area just perfect for toddlers and the vast space of the Walled Garden to explore.
The new Courtyard Cafe is a great place to stop for a break and enjoy mouth-watering cakes, light snacks and locally made ice cream. With a packed programme of seasonal events and entertainment from Easter, Halloween and Christmas to summer outdoor theatre and cinema, family workshops and parent and toddler groups, there's plenty to keep the whole family entertained and happy.
