If you go down to the woods today, you're in for a big surprise... High Lodge in Thetford Forest is a smashing example of wood as they should be, with numerous play areas, things to discover, themed trails with interactive elements and loads of opportunities for exercise and adventure!
The new Superworm trail has been designed to intrigue and entertain children aged 3 to 6 years and other elements that will appeal to 6 to 8 year olds.
You can also find a Gruffalo lurking the in darker part of the woods behind the play area: if you dare go looking for him that is! There are plenty of other way marked trails too of varying length that you can find out about in the visitor centre.
Best for kids is the Sound Trail, where you'll pass differing noise making features culminating in the cacophony of the bell tower!
Another new feature is the Pump Track: a sloping, rolling loop circuit for speedy cycling! There are also cycle trails and single track off road routes for older and more adventurous types too!
The Wildplay naturalistic adventure playground features not only lots of physical play equipment for sliding, climbing and balancing but also a brand new Toddler Tower play structure for the smaller ones to get to grips with the ideas in greater safety.
The tiny types have a play table under the toddler tower plus extensive sand play area to enjoy with a crane and mini diggers. Plus the Pyramid Tower is a separate play structure offering an exciting 13m tunnel slide, 3 more slides, rope bridges and crawling tunnels.
With this many play features even in high summer there's room for your brood too! There is an easy access trail provided suitable for buggies, as well as wheelchairs and easy walking, with 2 sets of fully accessible toilet facilities provided.

The bike trails are great. You can hire bikes but they Steve pensive. The gruffalontrail is good and the play parks challenging yet entertaining for all ages. Had a lovely picnic and time with the family. Many hours spent here in the last few years.
