Venue type: Outdoor
There is loads to do at Hamsterley Forest including trail marked walks and exciting mountain bike routes with full mountain bike hire facilities.
There are tracks of all difficulty and durations so it's nice and easy to pick one which suits your group! There is a great children's adventure play trail along the all-access (buggy friendly!) circular trail along the beck – lots of different play areas to entertain all ages from toddlers to teenagers.
There is a visitor centre and tearoom back at base camp too, for helping to work the wobble back out of your legs afterwards!
There are varying family oriented events and activities held seasonally in the forest including Den Building, organised mountain bike rides and bird feeding, depending on your season.
There are plenty of picnic areas and BBQs are allowed with obvious conditions and the family hound is welcome too. This is a great day out with something for everybody of any age, with as much or as little exercise involved as you like!!
