Attraction Information
Hackney City Farm boasts a wide variety of animals on the farm, they keep as full a range as possible of traditional farm livestock and you can usually expect to see pigs, cattle, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals. Plenty for small kids to enjoy visiting with and naming.
Every Saturday at the Mini Farmers' Club local youngsters help manage the farmyard and animals under friendly supervision as they learn about farming through everyday tasks such as mucking out and grooming.
Great for anyone 8 to 17 who wants to work with animals to get some experience! And it's free! So while they're doing that, why not retire to their award winning family restaurant Frizzante and have a peek at the menu. Or a taste. Or everything! With chips!
It is all free, but they do rely on donations to keep running. As a bonus and an excuse to put some money their way why not buy from their daily lay of chicken and duck eggs, which can be purchased in their shop alongside the honey from their own bees!
And as a rather unexpected extra the Hackney Bike Workshop on the same site runs sessions from 19:00 to 21:00 on the first and third Tuesday of each month and kids can learn to maintain and fix their bikes with help and instruction from their friendly team of volunteer mechanics. Ideal for older kids and teens who are always on their wheels.
