At The Green Britain Centre climb the 300 steps and experience a modern Windmill from within the heart of the machine, inside the unique glass encased viewing platform. Climbers must be over 7 years old and over 4ft tall. If you can't make it up there then the Feet On The Ground tour version will go through all the same detail but without the climb and views.
Take a close look at the Greenbird - the cool, World record holding, fastest wind-powered vehicle on the planet! Hitting a smooth 126.1mph this is (hopefully!) the future of vehicular propulsion! Unless of course they get a helping hand from aliens, perhaps like the ones that the mass media reported had crashed into one of the turbines in 2009… come see the famous mangled remains of the UFO Blade and see what you think!
Wander contentedly through the Organic Gardens and Orchard, exploring and discovering bug and bird boxes, bug hotels, and special places designed to naturally encourage mini beasts and natural wildlife, like a wetland area, natural hedges, log piles, small pools, wildlife undergrowth area, nettle bed and wildflower meadows.
Plus, learn about renewable energy plus visit the cinema and theatre. You'll get a well-rounded day out, an insight into the future and an appreciation for the innovative eco-technologies of the present!
