Go Ape Matfen pretty much does what it says on the tin: release your inner chimp on a Tree Top Adventure high in the northern hills.
Matfen is surrounded by unspoilt Northumbrian scenery and would make a lovely spot for country walks and a picnic. That is before you take to the trees and get swinging through an impressive 38 crossings. Take two to three hours to ‘clamber, climb and conquer’ the various obstacles, like rope bridges hung 11m high in the trees. Throw yourself from a Tarzan swing, or fly through the air on a 160m long zip wire!
This course features a number of crossings depicting local landmarks, like the famous Tyne Bridge. There are even crossings which call on the Millennium and High level Bridge for inspiration. You won’t find these challenges anywhere else so even if it seems scary, have a go! The course was also the first Go Ape adventure to make its home within the grounds of a country house hotel, a fact which gives you a chance to explore 300 acres of manicured parkland.
