Nice little farm to visit for a couple of hours

We enjoyed a recent visit to Farmer Gow's while staying nearby. It's a small friendly place which is demonstrated by the fact that we were given a brief tour when we arrived and told of the feeding times, etc., which was a nice touch. The children were able to hold and stroke a turkey chick, as well as sit on benches as a number of different animals (pigs, goats, sheep, ducks, etc.) were released from their pens and allowed to walk around and be petted. When some of the animals were brought out (not the pigs!) the parents were given a handful of food to pass to the children at their discretion, so that the animals could eat from their hands. They were also able to collect some eggs from the hens. There is a cool hay bale climbing area for the kids, some ride on toys, and a separate small playground. There is a limited food menu including food boxes for the kids and basic ham and cheese rolls etc for adults, albeit the rolls we had were nicely presented and tasty. Overall we enjoyed our visit and would recommend as a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.
