Attraction Information
De Havilland Aircraft Museum will surprise you with the number of things to see in quite a small space, with plenty of hands on stuff for the kids.
The collection of planes is pretty impressive, with a number ofwooden military aircraft (including three mosquitoes!) and some that were made before World War II. There are also planes from the jet age and a number of transport aircraft.
There is also a chance to see planes that are being worked on and restored right in front of you by retired by mechanics and plane enthusiasts.
Kids will get a kick out of being able to climb into the cockpit of both passenger and war planes. Good photo opportunity too! You can also get up close and also touch most of the exhibits.
Very friendly volunteers, who are happy to share their knowledge and even chat with the little ones, are on hand to answer any questions about the museum. The information boards are well written and provide a lot of information about the history and story of items in the exhibition.
