Curious About Stamford: a great place to visit all year round.
Take our fabulous walks, and have fun finding answers to clues and matching pictures, whilst reading our stories about the most interesting facts and people. Buy or instant download then enjoy these walks with friends and family at your leisure.
Walk 1: Church Walk
Stamford has a large collection of churches scattered around the town, of all different denominations and architectures. This walk takes in a good cross section of those churches, as well as highlighting a number of other fascinating places, like Stamford School founded in 1532, and Browne's Hospital, an ancient almshouse built in the 15th century (1 mile / 1.6 kms).
Walk 2: Heritage Walk
Stamford's recorded history goes back well over 1,000 years. Untouched by the industrial revolution, much of the town centre was built in the 17th and 18th centuries, in Georgian or Jacobean style. Because of its conservation status much of the town still retains its old world charm, and the Heritage Walk will show you most of it! (1 mile / 1.6 kms).
