Centre for Alternative Technology or Canolfan y Dechnoleg Amgen, set in beautiful mid-Wales, inspires thousands of visitors each year with over 7 acres of gardens and hands on displays, to discover over 40 years of sustainability practice.
The centre teaches you all about the earth's natural resources. Discover details of renewable energy generation, such as wind and solar power, learn about composting and waste management, and organic growing. Explore working examples of environmentally responsible buildings, and find out fascinating facts from the range of interactive displays.
The centre also features an adventure playground, family maze and many different animals to visit, plus plenty of open space, where you can enjoy yourselves in natural surroundings. There is even a great cliff railway in the summer months!
There is an extensive programme of tours and events throughout the year, many of which are included in the ticket price, plus there is a great Information Centre on site that offers free advice on sustainable living.
