Attraction Information
A visit to Cawdor Castle can be exciting, educational, seasonal or exploratory, or even better you can make it all of them by doing everything available. Why wouldn't you, seeing as access to the Castle, the Gardens, the Grounds and the Nature Trails are all included in your admission price?!
The Walled Garden, the Flower Garden and the Wild Garden all have their own unique charms and styles, comprising together a charming set of family strolling environments which are great for all ages and levels of mobility.
Their par 3 golf course has 9-holes and is lots of fun for people who enjoy the game; kids however may not be impressed as it's very much the real deal of golfing, not one of it's crazy comedy and adventurous counterparts. There's also a putting green for some short game practice, and again it's a grown up style thing.
The 5 varying nature trails range in length from 3 quarters of a mile to 5 miles, each offering differing experiences of the grounds and gardens, with differing but equally splendid views to be had en route. Pleasingly there's a very simple rule here should you happen to lose your way: follow the flow of the nearest burn (stream) and you can't fail to find the castle eventually, as they all flow toward it. Thanks, nature!
You can also go Salmon Fishing on the River Findhorn if of course you have the proper licensing.
