Attraction Information
Castle Park and Gardens is a town centre oasis: terrific to retreat to with the family for an afternoon, featuring loads of things to see and do with kids under 10.
First, you've got the modern adventure play area with assault course equipment and other sturdy features, then put the pedal to the puddle on the family boating lake with kooky pedal boats available for hire Easter through October.
At varying times throughout the year one can encounter all sorts of merry distractions here, ranging from live musical performances, fireworks shows and guided tree walks to travelling funfairs and charitable fun-runs!
Families with kids who are toilet training will particularly enjoy this park, as it's got 3 full toilet blocks scattered about, so you never have to run very far!
Other things to do in the immediate vicinity include a cricket ground, traditional cafe, riverside walks and a local museum.
