The village of Camber, East of the ancient town of Rye, has it’s own stretch of golden paradise in Camber Sands.
This rugged, natural, picturesque beach is as wild as the weather can be. In the summer, the clean sands and open space are ideal for families looking to play and make the most of the stunning coastline. There are endless sand dunes for masterful games of hide and seek and secluded picnic spots.
In the winter dogs are allowed back on the beach to run free, jumping in and out of the waves when the tide rolls in. Surrounded by interesting wildlife and unspoilt views it’s a beautiful place for a bracing British walk while the cold weather whips around you.
A slither of open sands just a stones throw from London!

The Kettle O' Fish takeaway and restaurant is at 25 Wish Street not far from the Harbour; plus the Kit Kat Cafe right on the front does your nearest coffees and ice creams but we've read mixed reviews about it, so as a back up there's also Antonio's Pizzeria on Old Lydd Road which also apparently does good ice cream.
There are apparently loos with disabled access signposted from the seafront.
