The railway at CairnGorm Mountain is an exciting way to see this unique area. Look out for reindeer and some of Britains most famous birds. At the top you can visit the viewing terrace to see a fantastic mountain panorama.
During summer our visitor guides are there to answer your questions about the history and legends of the mountain. They can also tell you about the special weather conditions we have, similar to the Arctic Circle, which influences everything that grows, lives, works and plays here. During the summer we have guided walks with experienced Rangers that are great for the family to enjoy together.
At the Base Station we have a mountain garden with examples of all the rare plants that can be found on the mountain. There is also the Camera Obscura which projects onto a table a 360 degree view of the surrounding area.
