Attraction Information
Red squirrels, smugglers and the location that inspired Enid Blyton - all that and a tree climbing trail (!) - make Brownsea Island an absolute must
Find the island just off of Poole Harbour where you can see all the way across to the Purbeck Hills. The area is full of history, like the hermit who made his home here way back in the Middle Ages. The big name though has to be the beloved Enid Blyton who found inspiration for her kid’s classic, the Whispering Wood right here.Be sure to follow one of the many wild and wonderful trails, like the Tracker Pack for an adventurous introduction to orienteering. From here you can delve down into the Smuggler’s Trail and see where the local crooks would hide their loot, or make your wildlings’ day by taking them on the Tree Climbing Trail.
