Suitable for all ages
Venue type: Indoor, Outdoor
The Brooklands Museum is a rather misleading title for what's actually a wealth of differing elements and attractions all ideally suited to families, not just for educational value but for genuine fun and enjoyment too!
The unparalleled collections of Aviation and Motor vehicles, memorabilia and more are spread between several buildings and individual galleries, so there really is an awful lot to see and leaner if you've the inclination.
You'll also find the London Bus Museum here, where the wonderfully maintained vehicles dating 1875 to 1979 are laid out in a timeline so even the smallest kids can visually appreciate the fascinating developments over time.
The 4D Theatre experience (available for a little extra) is a one in a lifetime chance to see what it's like to drive the Napier-Railton Race Circuit at Brooklands at over 100 miles an hour! Special effects provide the sounds and smells as well as the visuals of the race, so it's excitingly immersive and best for kids old enough to know what's going on!
There's also an additional Concorde Experience available for a modest fee where you can explore the exhibition on board the rear of their Concorde, then head up to the front for a live piloted virtual flight experience! It's only 30 minutes long so even small kids can generally manage and it's really enjoyable.
On weekdays during term time you can now enjoy both the Concorde and 4D Theatre Experiences for just £8 adults and £4 children, so there's no real excuse not to do everything!
