Bodmin and Wenford Railway allows you to discover the nostalgia and excitement of steam travel, with a journey evocative of a 1950s Steam Branch line, on the Bodmin Railway.
Everyone will enjoy the 13 mile return journey from Bodmin General Station, through Glynn Valley, to Bodmin Parkway, then through Camel Valley to Boscarne. The principle station, Bodmin General, has been beautifully restored to reflect the 1950s, and has an Exhibition Coach that features displays and artefacts about the railway and its history, plus a Workshop viewing area, which has locomotives and rolling stock on display.
There are 3 other stations to explore on your journey. Colesloggett Halt, a peaceful wayside station set in beautiful surroundings, has a picnic area to enjoy, plus it's a short walk from Cardinham Woods, which has nature trails to follow. You will also stop at Bodmin Parkway, which has a great scenic walk along the old carriage drive, plus the award winning Station Cafe, and Boscarne Junction, which is directly adjacent to the Camel Trail, and is situated on the former Bodmin and Wadebridge Railway, one of the very first railways in the world!
The Railway holds a number of fantastic events throughout the year that are fun for the whole family, so check the Events page through the link before you visit.
