It’s official: winter is coming. Warm coats, scarves and gloves are out of hibernation, the clocks have gone back, and the kids have made a good start on their Christmas lists. However, that doesn’t mean you have to idly sit by at home - we’ve got great November events for all ages and tastes to get you out and exploring!

Whilst this months can sometimes just feel like the month that happens after Halloween and before Christmas, we’re here to prove that there are still plenty of exciting things to do in November, including mad science experiments, a medieval fair and digital fun!

  1. Kidtropolis with Digital Kids Show, Manchester, Greater Manchester

    16th - 17th November 2019

    Give your kids a pre-Christmas treat with a day out at Kidtropolis with Digital Kids Show! Take your whole family to Manchester Central for the 5th edition of this awesome November event and experience the best in cutting-edge entertainment. From playing Fortnite and Minecraft, to trying out the latest in VR technology, there’s plenty of fun for all ages. Yes, adults can get stuck in too!

    It's not all about digital action either, there's plenty of real action too! Kidtropolis with Digital Kids Show is home to classic family favourites, such as giant inflatables, fairground rides and ice skating. Plus, your little artists can get hands-on in a slime-making workshop. You can even meet leading lady Kira Kosarin from the Nickelodeon hit The Thundermans in person! 

    All you have to do is choose a morning or an afternoon time slot (4 hours each) and start exploring. All activities are included in the price of your ticket, so you can do as much or as little as you like. You simply can’t go wrong!

  2. Rush Trampoline Park High Wycombe, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire

    With autumn getting colder, a day of indoor fun is just the natural solution and there’s no better place to enjoy some bouncy fun than Rush Trampoline Park High Wycombe! Featuring dozens of interconnected trampolines, dodgeball, tumble lanes, foam pit and more, this is one of the most entertaining things to do in November for all the family.

    Our focus this month is on the brand new soft play area for kids under 10 which just opened at the park. This new adventure-packed zone, called Ruby and Red's has all your favourite soft play classic for bigger kids, plus a special zone for the tiniest visitors - it’s perfect for babies aged 6 months and under to crawl and explore.

    While the little ones are busy playing and making new friends at the soft play, you can catch up with your friends and enjoy handcrafted cake, wholesome food and barista style coffee in the nearby seating area. All without losing sight of the kids, of course!

  3. Star Gazing at SOFO, Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum, Woodstock, Oxfordshire

  4. Celebrate the City: Lord Mayor's Show family festival at Museum of London, Barbican, Greater London

    For the love of London, join the grand celebrations of the Lord Mayor’s Show with an afternoon packed full of activities at Museum of London! There will be art workshops, tours, performances and lots more family-friendly entertainment. It’s not just the kids who’ll learn something new and fascinating about London there…

  5. A Northumbrian November at Cragside House, Gardens and Estate, Morpeth, Northumberland

    A Northumbrian November at Cragside House, Gardens and Estate is all about cosy autumn evenings at the Estate. Find out how electricity made life at the house much more comfortable by bringing hot water, central heating and other modern features. Curtains down, dimmed lights, fire burning - you’ll feel like honourable guests of the Armstrongs on the ground floor of the house. You’ll even get to see a special exhibition of gifts from the Japanese Emperor to Lord Armstrong that’s not normally on show!

  6. Remembrance Trail at Essex Police Museum, Chelmsford, Essex

    9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th November 2019

    Remembering the country’s war heroes is a huge part of building our national identity. Educate your kids on history in a fun and engaging way. Take the Remembrance Trail at the Essex Police Museum and find all the poppies hidden around the building. How many are in each cabinet? Can you write the officers’ names? Entry to the museum’s free and you have to pay just £1 for the trail, plus you get a free mini magnifier to help you in your search, so it virtually won’t cost a thing!

  7. Little Sparks The Big Freeze at W5, Belfast, County Antrim

    This month’s Little Sparks session for science-loving tots (2-4) at W5 is all about The Big Freeze. Your tiny brainiacs will soon find out how materials change when they are really cold or super hot. There will be even liquid nitrogen and tasty treats - how Heston!

  8. Explosions and Potions at Techniquest, Cardiff, Glamorgan and Cardiff

    Weekends in November 2019

    Bring the excitement of science into your list of things to do in November! Techniquest is holding a special Explosions and Potions show on weekends throughout the months. It will teach your young budding scientists how mixing the right chemicals together can produce some extraordinary results. It’s not too long either, it lasts 35 minutes, so kids won’t get restless before the end.

  9. Book Week Scotland, Various Locations

    18th - 24th November 2019

    Celebrate the wonderful world of literature with your kids this November. Book Week Scotland will come with many events across the country, including workshops, storytelling and meet and greets with book authors. Chances are that your local library will be hosting some, so head down there and check what’s on.

  10. Autumn Tree and Animal Walk at Mote Park, Maidstone, Kent

    23rd November 2019

    Love animals and a good walk in the park? Join the Autumn Tree and Animal Walk at Mote Park and let the Chairman of the Mote Park Fellowship introduces you to the many fascinating plants and creatures of the park. You’ll also get to learn how your favourite park plays a role in protecting some of the country’s oldest trees and most interesting species.

  11. NEW Pokémon Creative Studio at KidZania, Shepherds Bush, Greater London

    The Pokémon Creative Studio returns to KidZania London in November! Your tiny Poké-lovers (4+) can dive into two exciting roles: they can make their own short stop motion Pokémon film as Animators, or become Pokémon Trading Card Designers using the Pokémon app. Each job role allows you to earn 8 kidZos. You can book your activity in advance, so you don’t face any disappointment on the day.

  12. Ludlow Medieval Christmas Fayre, Ludlow, Shropshire

    23rd - 24th November 2019

    Christmas shopping at a medieval fayre with jesters, knights and other historical entertainers - that’s what Ludlow Castle has to add to our list of November events. From watching thrilling re-enactments to marvelling the impressive craft of archery, your family day out will have a proper medieval twist to it. With 80+ stalls to browse through (all traders dressed in period costumes ,of course!), there’s a good chance you’ll sort out all your Christmas gifts in one go!

  13. Steampunks in Space 2019 at the National Space Centre, Leicester, Leicestershire

    23rd - 24th November 2019

    Steampunks in Space 2019 is an alternative event that’s all about time-travelling steampunks and futuristic steam-powered science; it definitely isn’t your usual entry on our list of November events! If you fancy something a little different, just put on your goggles and make your way to the National Space Centre. If your kids are into sci-fi, they’ll love it!

  14. Digital Dimensions at Eureka! The National Children's Museum, Halifax, West Yorkshire

    25th May - 30th November 2019

    If you’ve got tech-savvy tykes at home and you haven’t yet had the chance to see the Digital Dimensions exhibition at Eureka! The National Children's Museum, you must put it on your list of things to do in November - it’s your last chance to see it! From travelling through a colourful tunnel of motion-capture screens to unlocking magical doors to digital dimensions, there’s lots of cutting-edge interactive entertainment to keep the kids busy for a good few hours.

  15. HUSH: Family friendly silent disco at National Museum Cardiff, Cardiff, Glamorgan and Cardiff

    Keeping the best for last, here comes HUSH: Family Friendly Silent Disco! National Museum Cardiff is throwing the funkiest of our selected November events - an early evening dancing party under the gaze of Dippy The Dinosaur. Equipped with very special headphones, you’ll have the option to choose between music by two different DJs, so you can properly get your groove on. Your little dino-lovers will have a blast too - kids as young as 5 are invited.
