Yep, that's right - we’re on the doorsteps of June and our list of 16 June events and things to do in June is here! We may be half-way through 2019 but there's no need to enter panic mode because this also means we’re right at the start of summer and lots of awesome summer family days out are on the cards. Excited? Let’s see what your favourite family-friendly attractions near you have in store for summer 2019!

  1. Character Meet & Greets at Paultons Theme Park, Hampshire

     Meet Ben & Holly

    Your list of things to do in June is about to get a lot more exciting! This month Paultons Family Theme Park, it’s all about meeting your favourite characters. Special guests are fairy princess Holly and her best friend, Ben Elf from Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom (22nd and 23rd June), followed by Catboy, Gekko and Owlette from the cream fighting team PJ Masks (29th and 30th June). Best part is - you don’t have to pay extra to enjoy the meet and greets!

    All of your favourite Peppa Pig characters are available for daily meet & greets as always. However, if you fancy meeting Peppa Pig and George before the Park opens to avoid the crowds, you should book a Peppa's Early Play & Ride Pass (available only on select weekends in June). Places are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

  2. Ariana Grande at Madame Tussauds, London

    Until end of June 2019

    Ariana Grande’s wax figure has left Blackpool and is now on display at Madame Tussauds London for 5 weeks only - from 24th May until the end of June. So, if a trip to London is on your list of things to do in June and your kids are still listening to “Thank U, Next” on repeat, then dropping by to take a selfie with Arie should certainly be added to your itinerary. 

  3. Join the Queen's birthday celebrations, London

    8th June 2019

    Yes, even though the Queen’s Birthday is on the 21st of April, her official birthday celebration takes place in June (because even the Royals appreciate good weather!). The Trooping the Colour Parade is a truly spectacular June event which features hundreds of Household Division officers, horses and musicians in ceremonial uniform. The ballot for spectator tickets is already closed but you can still watch the parade from St James's Park or along The Mall. Oh, and don’t miss the Royal Air Force flypast over Buckingham Palace!

  4. Check out the new openings at Thorpe Park, Surrey

    There’s loads going on at Thorpe Park this summer with BounceZilla being the main thing to do in June. This hilarious 90m inflatable course will have you and your little ones bouncing past obstacles, tumbling through tunnels and sliding your way to the finish line! Also, if you haven’t been to Thorpe this spring, you should also have a go at their brand-new, family-friendly escape room, Jungle Escape.

  5. Giffords Circus at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire

    6th - 10th June 2019

    There’s a certain magical atmosphere about the circus and you never grow too old to appreciate it. Treat your kids to an awe-inspiring performance by Gifford Circus, which will be making a stop at Blenheim Palace this June. The touring Xanadu show will take you to the summer of 1973 in Hyde Park when it was all about flowers, love, hippies, hipsters and rock. It’s the perfect family escape!

  6. Explore The Adventure Castle at Longleat Safari and Adventure Park, Wiltshire

    The Adventure Castle at Longleat, which is a kids’ favourite, has recently undergone a major refurbishment and has just reopened for May half term, but only just! The awesome play area, suitable for children under 14, has been made even more exciting by the addition of a new two-level indoor soft play area, even more play space, accessible play swing, undercover picnic areas and lots more new features.

  7. Summer fun at GreenWood, Gwynedd

    15th-16th; 22nd June 2019

    GreenWood Forest Park has been voted the best family attraction in North Wales for a reason! This year’s June events start with Dads go FREE on Father’s Day weekend (15th and 16th June). They’ll also be throwing a big 50th birthday bash for Wales' best-loved kids' character, Sali Mali on Saturday 22nd June. If you needed an excuse to come visit your favourite theme park more than once this month, this is it!

  8. Dinos at Night at Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure, Norfolk

    29th June 2019

    Dino-crazy kids at home? We’ve got just the event for you! The award-winning annual evening event Dinos at Night returns at Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure on June 29. With an evening packed with performances and activities for the whole family, plus the UK’s biggest walking T-Rex (at 7 meters long) in attendance, your little ones will surely be over the moon.

  9. Splashing fun at Aquapark Rutland, Rutland

    Feel like the summer couldn’t come soon enough? Going to an aqua park is one of those iconic things to do in June, so we’re happy to tell you that the UK’s most exciting aqua park - Aquapark Rutland, has just reopened for the season, featuring the largest collection of bespoke big impact water obstacles in the country. No better place to have splashing fun on a sunny day!

  10. Newborn baby monkeys at Trentham Monkey Forest, Staffordshire

    If cute baby animals are your thing, you’ll love this! The first babies since 2017 were born late May at Trentham Monkey Forest. 2 baby boys and a little girl are the newest additions to the 140 monkeys already living in freedom in the 60-acre forest. So, why not go and visit them this June?

  11. Kynren - an Epic Tale of England, County Durham

    29th June - 14th September 2019

    Opening on the 29th June, Kynren - the must-see live action outdoor theatre show which brings 2,000 of English history and legends to life, is one of the most anticipated family-friendly June events. You’re in for a thrilling performance, featuring stunts, special effects, outstanding horsemanship and fireworks, all brought together by breath-taking choreography and an epic soundtrack. It’s a must-see! 

  12. Strawberry Picking at Charleton Fruit Farm, Dundee and Angus

    Starting 20th June 2019

    Seize the opportunity to be amongst the first people to enjoy this year’s first strawberries, as strawberry season kicks off at Charleton Fruit Farm on the 20th June. Going through the gardens, picking your own delicious fruit must be one of our all-time favourite things to do in June! We even gathered a list of the best PYO strawberry farms in the UK, if you want to find a great place to pick your own near you.

  13. The Deep Experience at The Deep, East Yorkshire

    3rd -  30th June 2019

    The Deep 1-2-1 Experience is the perfect way to spend your morning, if your kids are fascinated by the marine world. You’ll get the chance to take part in hands-on activities and take a peek at what goes on behind the scenes at The Deep. Suitable for budding marine biologist, aged 8 and above.

  14. Pirates and Mermaids at SEA LIFE Manchester, Greater Manchester

    25th May - 4th September 2019

    Learn how to tie ship mate knots like a real Pirate, or how to speak Mermaid, and lots more at Pirates and Mermaids event at SEA LIFE Manchester. Side with the pirates or the mermaids and join the race to find the six hidden treasures in the tanks. Complete the task and claim your reward! Not based near Manchester? Check your local SEA LIFE centre for their Pirates and Mermaids dates.

  15. Mustering for War at Arundel Castle, West Sussex

    22nd - 23rd June 2019

    If you’re a bit of a history buff or if your kids just love knights in shining armour, Mustering for War at Arundel Castle is a great June event for you to attend. You’ll find yourself transported to the 12th century to witness Empress Matilda’s warriors prepare for battle. You’ll also get to explore the tented encampment, wield replica 12th century weapons and dress up in period costumes.

  16. Unicorn Weekend at Lee Valley Park Farms, Essex

    29th June - 30th June 2019

    It seems like unicorns are taking over the world … or at least our kids’ world. They seem to be everywhere and kids just love them. That’s why Unicorn Weekend at Lee Valley Park Farms is a June event your little ones won’t want to miss. With a real life unicorn and unicorn princess, a dragon and other magical creatures roaming around, the farm will be transformed into a real-life fairytale land.
