Top Things to do in the Leicestershire School Holidays

Twinlakes Adventure Park, Melton Mowbray

Want your Leicestershire school holidays to be supercharged with fun? Twinlakes Adventure Park just has to head out list of things to do - it’s practically 3 attractions in one: theme park, water park and animal farm! You’ll have plenty on your hands to fill the whole day with more than 100 acres of family rides and attractions across 7 different zones to explore.

Feel free to visit Twinlakes anytime during the year - 150,000 sq ft of indoor play areas are at your disposal on a rainy day. That’s plenty of space for the kids to let loose and burn off that extra energy. Not to mention that during the school holidays the park will be running special family events, so you’ll always have something new to experience.

Manor Farm and Woodlands, Loughborough

There’s no better time to escape the city and enjoy the magnificent East Midlands countryside than when school’s out! The stunning Manor Farm and Woodlands are situated just outside the Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire border. Make your way there to explore kid-friendly nature trails and have a refreshing lakeside walk - the nature there is breath-taking no matter the season!

Without a doubt, your little ones’ favourite part of the day will be meeting the animals. From the lovable donkeys to the large collection of various owls (which you can also hold!) – there’s plenty of animal fun to be had. Additionally, the farm offers an indoor play barn and an outdoor play area, so the little ones will have something to keep them busy whatever the weather.

National Space Centre, Leicester

Schools’ out, so it’s time for some educational fun! At the National Space Centre in Leicester, your little space lovers will find themselves onboard the iconic 42m high rocket tower, which will take them on an imaginary quest through the stars. This experience is guaranteed to be a hit; after all, the life of an astronaut never fails to excite the young minds.

Your day of science fun at the National Space Centre will continue with an illuminating show at Sir Patrick Moore’s Planetarium, astronaut training at Tranquility Base and a ride on the 3D SIM. A whole day of exploring the Universe - what better way to make the Leicestershire school holidays count!

Congo River Crazy Golf, Leicester

Congo River Crazy Golf offers an outdoor 18-hole mini golf experience for the whole family. The course underwent some essential renovations in early 2019 and is set to come back better than ever right for the 2019 Spring school holidays.

There’s no need to book in advance, no experience is needed and entry fees are budget-friendly - what more could you want? If you’ve never tried it, crazy golf is great fun for all ages, so you can even invite gramps and nana to come play with you. It will be a game to remember!

Leicester Leys Leisure Centre, Leicester

When summer comes, we all want some splashing fun in the sun but if you live in Leicestershire, the coast might be too far for your family trip. So, instead, you can pay Leicester Leys Leisure Centre a visit. The leisure pool at the centre has 2 flume rides and a wave machine to entertain your little swimmers, plus a baby pool for the youngest members of the family.

If you fancy some fun out of the water too, you can channel your inner Spiderman and have a go at indoor climbing, or simply try a fitness class at the gym. Getting active together has never been that easy!
