We can’t have a best pantomimes list without Dick Whittington and his trusty cat popping up sooner or later! This is a true Christmas pantomime classic and the wonderful cast at Theatre Royal Plymouth knows exactly how to make it work.

An adventure at sea, an evil rat king to defeat and a young lady’s heart to be won - Dick Whittington will have his hands full and you’ll have the chance to tag along for the ride. Sounds like a pantomime near you worth a visit, doesn’t it?

For those of you, who live in the East, this is the one Christmas pantomime near you to put down in your diary. With 32 performances to choose from, you should have no trouble bagging yourself pantomime tickets for a convenient date and time.

11. Miracle on 34th Street, The Terry O’Toole Theatre, North Hykeham
13th December 2018 - 15th December 2018

Miracle on 34th Street is a timeless Christmas classic, no doubt about it! This makes Terry O’Toole Theatre’s choice of a Christmas panto in 2018 a great one.

The story of Kris Kringle’s journey to becoming Santa, paired with romance and magical Christmas wishes makes for one heartwarming and brilliantly festive Christmas outing for the whole family. If this is your top choice of a pantomime near you, don’t wait around before booking; the show is only on for a couple of days.

12. Pinocchio, Hawk’s Well Theatre, Sligo
23rd - 26th January 2019

Ok, let’s face it, with so much stuff going on around Christmas, it’s not always possible to do all we want during the holidays. If you think you won’t be able to make it to a pantomime near you before Christmas, then a local January performance like Pinocchio at the Hawk’s Well Theatre should do the trick.

It also gives you a chance to do good while you laugh your socks off. Pinocchio is Sligo Hospital Musical Society’s 22nd annual pantomime. Over the years, the actors have donated over €180,000 from show proceedings to local charities. Helping out a charity - that’s a great way to kick off 2019!
