Bletchley Park is an essential slice of British history. Hear the stories of the men and women who cracked the Enigma code and learn all about the iconic WW2 hero, Alan Turing.

Here wartime Britain has been stunningly recreated with authentic set dressing. See the real office of Alan Turing and the largest and most comprehensive display of Enigma machines in the world. There’s also the world’s only operational Bombe rebuild, garages complete with WW2 vehicles and the device used to mechanise the codebreaking of Enigma. Wow!

There are tonnes of interactive exhibits so you may want to pick and choose which ones you visit with kids in tow. You’ll find some in the main mansion and museum including, How people lived in WW2 and Hitler’s “Unbreakable” Cipher Machine Gallery. You can also ‘meet’ the codebreakers and listen to their accounts of this groundbreaking time, as well as hearing how pigeons were used in WW2. Yes, really! Afterwards, take a seat at the coffee shop and see what you can find in the gift shop.

Eating information

There are a variety of food options at Bletchley Park. Hut 4, formerly a WW2 Naval Intelligence Codebreaking Hut, now houses the café. Open daily, there is a range of delicious hot and cold food to choose from including freshly cooked meals made on-site with locally sourced ingredients. There is a Coffee Shop in the Visitor Centre, serving cold and hot drinks, sandwiches, light snacks and treats. The Snack Kiosk in the Pump Room is open in the summer. The Tea Room in the Mansion serves afternoon tea most weekends with delicious sandwiches, delicate cakes and cream teas.

Pets allowed

Bletchley Park welcome all registered guide dogs, hearing dogs and medical alert dogs. If you wish to bring an assistance dog with you for your visit, please ensure you have formal identification for the dog with you such as any relevant documentation or jacket. If your dog requires a water bowl, please ask a member of staff who will be happy to provide one. Bletchley Park do not allow other dogs or pets to enter the attraction and they cannot be left in vehicles for safety reasons.

The nearest train station is Bletchley, with links to London Euston and Birmingham New Street. Milton Keynes Central is the nearest station with high speed inter-city links. The nearest bus station is Bletchley bus station. This has inter-urban links to the Milton Keynes area and beyond.
