Discover an amazing world of birds and their Jurassic ancestors on your day out in the Cotswolds. Birds of all different colours, shapes and caws have made their nest at Birdland, home to one of the largest collections of exotic birds in the UK, so come along and make some feathered friends for life!
Things To Do
Birdland is set in nine acres of gardens and woodland, creating a picturesque canopy for the winding River Windrush. Meet over 500 birds from magical owls, large cassowaries and rare species such as the Waldrapp Ibis. Spot flamingos, pelicans, cranes and waterfowl that live in the riverside habitats with many more inhabiting over 50 aviaries!
Did you know Birdland has England's only breeding group of King Penguins?! That's not all though, you can explore the Out of Africa area and meet hornbills, village weavers and many more amazing birds from across the continent.
Venture into the woodland and meet life-sized dinosaurs lurking between the trees in the Jurassic Journey area. Walk among the giants and watch out for their teeth! Track the footprints of Brachiosaurus, Spinosaurus, Postoscuchus, Velociraptors and more on your Jurassic Journey trail. You'll uncover over 30 different species, of all shapes and sizes! Watch out above! The Pteranodon is flying above you. Don't forget to find the giant dinosaur eggs and dinosaur skeletons.
Head to the Pandemonium of Parrots area and be amazed by vibrant and colourful parrots from macaws to lorikeets in their new enclosures. Then engage in some Meet the Keeper talks that take place daily to learn all about your favourite birds! Meet parrots, snakes, birds of prey, exotic animals and intelligent chickens! Little explorers can even get in the pen with the African Spurred Tortoises!
Plus, don’t miss their newest addition to the Park, the Parliament of Owls. Among the birds on show in the new aviaries are snowy owls, burrowing owls, great grey owls, spectacled owls and Indian scops owls. Visitors can also meet Mackinder’s eagle owls, Chaco owls and white-faced owls! Can you find a Hedwig-type owl?
