Attraction Information
Bedfords Park Visitor Centre offers a warm welcome and a great opportunity to learn about the wildlife that can be found in the surrounding park.
This historic parkland site of 215 acres provides fantastic views of London and into Kent, plus a number of interesting habitats for the kids to explore, such as species rich wildflower and hay meadows, mature woodland, plus marshy areas, ponds and streams.
The visitor centre will provide information on the varied wildlife that can be found, from exotic trees like Monkey puzzle and Cedar of Lebanon, to a number of birds such as woodpeckers and nuthatch. There are also plenty of dragonflies and butterflies to look out for, plus a captive herd of red deer!
The centre contains a gift shop, plus a variety of refreshments, with a large decked area that is a great place to relax during sunny weather. There are a number of routes around the reserve, some of which are wheelchair friendly (ask at the centre for more information). You can even bring the family pooch with you, but they will need to be kept on the lead near the centre and the deer herd.
Check online before you visit as a number of family friendly events are held at the centre throughout the year.
