Attraction Information
The welcoming Bedford Park is a large, Green Flag Awarded (and has been for over 6 years) public space encompassing several play areas and oodles of green to run, play and picnic on! The pre set fun features comprise sturdy physical play facilities suited for 2 to 10s, a skateboard facility (remember your helmets and pads, please!), a natural wildlife area where you may see squirrels and birds, a multi use sport games area and a BMX zone! Its a great choice for a family with a spread of kids along, genuinely something for everyone! Plus if you pack up the frisbee, bat and ball, football and whatnot, you've got a nigh endless amount of family fun to wedge into your day at the park. Hooray!
Picnicking is of course welcome and the hard path trails suitable for wheel and push chairs mean it's super accessible too and also great for cycling and scootering. The park is neatly maintained but there's still plenty of scope for a mini beast hunt or bird spotting in the peripheries where the foliage is a little thicker.
Plus the available outdoor sports facilities are for for football, rugby, tennis, cricket, basketball, rounders and bowls: so whatever your ball related preference is there's something for you here! Some of these are open daily for public use and other must be booked through the managing society or club, so why not take a trip first for a reccy and collect some phone numbers from the sports court boards?
