Baylham House Rare Breeds Farm is a wonderful place to take children and was voted The Best Visitor Experience in Suffolk for 2006, 2007 and 2010! As an all round day it's a great choice as they've got both undercover and open fun for all age ranges!

The primary aim of the farm is to help maintain the national stock of endangered and rare farm animals by breeding them and providing them with the best possible care in a traditional, non intensive environment. This means that as well as a fun visit they're great for study stop ins too!

The secondary aim is to provide visitors, particularly children, with an opportunity to meet healthy, contented and friendly farm animals. Every child is given a free bag of food for feeding the animals. 4 breeds of cattle and 6 flocks of rare sheep can be seen at Baylham House so there are plenty of critters after your nibbles! The pig collection includes Berkshire, Large Black, Middle White and Kune Kunes, and the very friendly Maori pigs from New Zealand! You will also find goats, poultry and alpacas on the farm so there's lots to see.

Baylham House Farm is an excellent place to come with a picnic lunch, to meet a variety of animals, take a walk along the riverside and lakeside paths, and spend the day in the countryside within the Gipping Valley. The majority of the paths are wheel chair and push chair friendly and, when you've had your fill of fresh air and when the children are exhausted, you can recover with a light lunch, a cream tea or a choice of home made cakes in the Visitors' Centre which also sells a wide selection of gifts. A disabled toilet and baby changing facilities are available.

The majority of the paths are wheel chair friendly and there are seats available for resting spread around the farm.
