Visit the Bank of England Museum to learn all about money and gold! Located on Bartholomew Lane, London, this family  attraction is great for educating children about the history of banknotes themselves!

Whether it's fascinating museum trails, uncovering the history of transatlantic slavery or getting your hands on a real gold bar - you're in for a captivating day out.

Try your hand at safe-cracking, and even pick a real gold bar (if you're feeling strong as each bar weighs a whopping 13 kilos!).

Take a gold vault selfie and discover why our building is on top of one the world's largest stores of gold!

With lots of interactive displays everyone in the family is guaranteed great fun. Activity sheets are also available for children of all ages.

Food & Drink
There are no food or drink options available at the Bank of England Museum and you are not allowed to take food or drink onto the premises either. 
There are shops nearby where scrumptious snacks are available to buy. 
 
Travelling & Parking For Visitors 
There are many ways to travel to the museum such as the Tube, buses, trains and via car / coach. 

Nearest tube stations:
  • Bank (Central, Northern, and Waterloo & City lines, and Docklands Light Railway (DLR))
  • Cannon Street (District and Circle lines)
  • Mansion House (District and Circle lines)
  • Monument (District and Circle lines)
  • Moorgate (Northern, and Hammersmith & City lines)

Buses:

There a few mainline stations nearby such as Liverpool Street, Fenchurch Street and Cannon Street. Each of these train stations are a 10-minute walk away. Click here to plan your train route.

Car / Coach:
As the museum is in the centre of London there are limited car parking spaces. The museum recommends using public transport if you can.

If you are arriving by coach please note that coach drivers who drop off and pick up visitors on double yellow lines on Bartholomew Lane are parking at their own risk of fines.
