Things To Do At The Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital Visitor Centre
Head to the Visitor Centre, where you'll find a treasure trove of fascinating exhibits and interactive displays here. Here, the kids can learn about British wildlife in an engaging and hands-on way.
During the school holidays, they can attend animal talks too! Led by the dedicated staff.
Information is provided in various formats, and there is an educational trail to follow, which takes you around the gardens, past the pond and to the deer paddocks. This is a great opportunity for kids to discover some of Britain's elusive wildlife and get an insight into their treatment.
If you fancy getting outside, why not stroll through the tranquil gardens? You'll be able to enjoy the wildlife and see if you can spot the resident animals who can no longer return to the wild. You'll discover a large variety of habitats, which are the homes to animals such as hedgehogs, rabbits and deer. These include a rockery, waterfall and a bog pond for amphibians.
It's an excellent place for kids to meet and learn about various British wildlife residents and the specialist hospital which looks after them free of charge. Kids can also find out how they either release animals back to the wild when they are fit or give them a home if not!
Then, head inside and visit two of the busiest hospital wards, both of which have viewing windows so they can see some of the patients being cared for without disturbing them.
There is a bone exhibition to see, plus a live link to their x-ray suite!
