Attraction Information

Enjoy a wonderful 10-15-minute boat tour of Overton Lake on The Captains Folly boat. Discover the stunning Ferry Meadows and take in the sight of the beautiful bluebells in season. Love history? Find out about the fascinating past of the lake, including the story of the 17th-century bridge and dungeon.

Turn the tour into a fun game for the kids. Try to spot as many local birds as you can, when you pass by Bird Island. Cormorants to kingfishers are very common in the area. Don’t be surprised if you see a  flock of curious ducks following the boat along. Kids just love these friendly feathered locals!

The Captain’s Folly takes up to 12 passengers, so the entire family can come on the tour. Fancy a longer cruise, or a birthday party on the lake? It’s all possible, as long as you book in advance!
