Attraction Information
Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum is well laid out and full of interactive exhibits and displays that will really grab the attention of your kids.
The layout has been designed to lead you through the history of war from past to present. There are several mannequins in full uniforms from different war eras, plus a mock up of a tank encampment.
There so many things for the kids to look at including a magnificent medal collection, weapons, maps and souvenirs from around the world. Children's quizzes are available to help them explore the displays.
They will also have the chance to learn about the Gloucestershire Regiment and the many historical turning points that they have been present for, such as defeating Napoleon and defending Dunkirk. Being able to see and touch their personal effects will really bring history to life.
There is a lift to the second floor for those with mobility scooters or wheelchairs.
Allow a couple of hours minimum for this place as there is so much too see.
