Attraction Information

Show your tots what life in rural Cambridgeshire used to be in days gone by with a visit to the Ramsey Rural Museum. Enjoy the lovely atmosphere of a quaint, little, 17th-century village in the countryside with its recently reconstructed farm buildings. You’ll be surprised how relaxed you’ll feel after a peaceful afternoon in this old-timely little museum.

Turn your visit to Ramsey Rural Museum into storytime with the kids. Every item in the museum has a personal story to tell. From old farm machinery, to ancient cobblers' shops and pharmacies, to World War 2 exhibits - you’ll find yourself totally captivated by the history behind the objects. You’ll also find an exhibit looking at local legends and folklore. And if you need some extra knowledge - just ask the staff. They are all volunteers, so they are absolutely passionate about Ramsey Rural Museum.

Take the opportunity to peek into own family history and go through the museum’s extensive archives. Once you dive into the paperwork, maps and photographs, there's no telling what you’ll find! And if you do come across an old photo of your great grandparents, you can make a photocopy to take home.

Bring a picnic basket and enjoy a family meal outdoor. Ramsey Rural Museum is in rural Cambridgeshire, after all - it would be a shame to not enjoy the fresh air!
