Attraction Information
Once the site of the largest cable communications system in the world, the Porthcurno Telegraph Museum is now the only working one in the world, with every single part except the cable (doh!) still present to examine! Plus loads of fascinating displays charting our tech love from the beginnings of electricity to today's mega modern gadgetry.
They've kindly put loads of effort into accommodating families, with interactive elements in most of the exhibits, supervised family activities into crafty ‘make and take' sessions, plus a family trail to follow around the museum to help keep little legs moving. If the legs are really little, you'll be pleased to hear that the whole place barring one staircase is accessible to pushchairs, with a baby change facility on site too!
There are a small adventure playground, a great sculpture garden and picnic area in the museum grounds (as well as a tennis court one may hire, oddly) plus there are scenic coastal walks and an excellent beach really close by too, so it's easy to extend your day trip!
