Attraction Information
Owl and Falconry Centre is set in the grounds of the Appuldurcombe estate, which also contains one of the grandest houses on the Isle of Wight!
You will see plenty of stunning birds of prey as you take a leisurely walk around the centre and see some beautiful species in their aviaries or the weathering lawn. Birds include Vultures, Falcons, Owls, Eagles, Kites, Hawks and more, from all around the world!
Flying displays are held several times a day (10:45, 12:00 and 14:00) and last about 45 minutes. They feature a large variety of interesting birds of prey from around the world, which you can learn all about from the fascinating commentary that accompanies the display. They vary each day and continue whatever the weather, as there is also a purpose built indoor flight barn for wet days.
You can really make a day of it and include a visit to Appuldurcombe House and Museum. There is an outdoor children's play area, and an indoor children's soft play area (Little Owls), which also has rabbits, goats, guinea pigs and chickens! With a large picnic area and plenty of free parking, what more could you ask for to make a brilliant family day out?!
