Ages: 4+

Venue type: Outdoor

Greater Manchester Riding for the Disabled offer everyone - disabled and able bodied - riding lessons so long as they are aged 4+, held in their outdoor menage or in Wythenshawe Park. There's the opportunity to gain certificates and badges in horse and stable management too!

More experienced riders also get the opportunity to hack in the beautiful parkland with no roadwork. Teaching is provided by qualified instructors and the volunteers are trained in all aspects of horse and rider care and safety.

It's worth noting that the time of printing, autumn 2015, they're actually completely fully booked and are building backlist for a fairly long wait. However they're also planning on expanding the RDA Horse Care and Stable Management courses so if you're patient, when you do get the head of the queue, you know you're in for an excellent ride.

Wythenshawe Park Riding Stables - second to none

Fabulous place to go horse riding. The staff are lovely and the safety of the rider and animals is always the priority. I cannot recommend anywhere better and I have been to many riding stables over the past 30 years. They work so hard here but it pays off because you can see the ponies and horses are as happy as the staff and the riders. It is just such a nice place to be. The park is lovely and it is so big. There is so much to see and do.

Unfortunately, this attraction is now closed

We're sorry to see it go!

Don't worry - you can find lots more great days out in Wythenshawe, or you can browse days out all over the UK here.
