About Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre
For an authentic family fair experience you can't say fairer (see what we did there?) than the fabulous Dingles Fairground Museum. It's 45,000 sq ft of undercover attraction packed full of fun exhibits, vintage engineering and stunning artwork displays. Almost guaranteed to press every button for most kids and hit the nostalgia switch for the accompanying adults too! Saunter around the working vintage fairground rides including the Ghost Train, Dodgems, Moonrocket, Noah's Ark Super Speedway and an original Edwardian set of Victory Gallopers. Smaller children can ride the Happy Caterpillar, Mini Waltzer, Toyset Roundabout or the Ladybugs. Pause for a bite to eat from the fairground kiosk serving burgers, hot dogs and chips with candy floss or a cold slush puppy for desert before playing the side stalls. Have a go at winning prizes on the Plate Smash, Shooter, Darts, Ball in a Bucket or Hook a Duck, and then laugh youselves silly in the Hall of Mirrors. Don't forget to visit the Exhibits Hall along with one of our children's trails to learn about Victorian freak shows, see Victorian galloper horses and chickens and see how travelling showmen and their families lived whilst on the road. You may see and even hear traditional fairground organs at play. Complete your visit in the penny arcade, playing the Sooty Show, Penny Falls and one armed bandits. Or maybe have your fortune read by our Palm Reader! Roll up roll up, come and see us rain or shine for a fun and fascinating day out the entire family will enjoy!
Working vintage fairground rides
‘Hold on tight and lean to the right’ for a speed ride on the 1930’s Super Chariot Racer or travel into space with Shaw’s Moonrocket, built 30 years before man actually went to the moon.
Traditional penny arcade
Grab a prize with the crane or make your fortune on the penny falls and one arm bandits.
Traditional fairground side stalls
Win a coconut on the Plate Smasher or aim for the prize on the Shooter. You always win on Hook a Duck but if it's laughter your after, visit the Hall of Mirrors!
