The house itself is home to an amazing collection of fine art, set in stunning rooms full of history encased in beautiful architecture. Step outside to discover your very own Secret Garden. Hidden from view, the garden is full of magic with a mirrored maze, water features to refresh you on the warmest of days and plenty of picnic spots.
There are swivelling Caesar busts keeping an eye, which are sure to delight inquisitive children! For those who really want to get their hands dirty there’s the Gruesomely Grubby Gardens tour. Spot sculptures and understand how they were made, solve puzzles and discover all the insects and animals that live deep down in the dirt of the garden.

The state rooms and the Orangery restaurant are on the first floor and are accessible via two chair lifts. These lifts do not take a wheelchair and you will need to transfer onto and off the lift. There are occasional steps in Burghley. It is not possible to take mechanised wheelchairs into the house, but manual wheelchairs are welcomed.
No, Burghley House and Garden of Surprises have stated they are not pushchair friendly.
Dogs are welcome only in the park. Assistance/guide dogs only in house and gardens.
