Attraction Information
Ashburton Swimming Pool offers a heated outdoor pool 21m by 9m and has swings and a pleasant lawned area for spectators.
This pool was built in 1924 as part of the Golden Lion Hotel, and was taken over by Teignbridge District Council as a public pool. The pool is 0.7m (2ft3) to 2.2m (7ft2) deep, and is heated to 27 to 29 degrees.
If you fancy a drink, a locally baked cake, or a snack, try the Swimming Pool Café, which also has a selection of swimming equipment for sale, including floats, goggles, and waterproof swim containers. The café is staffed entirely by volunteers and all proceeds go towards the ‘Friends of Ashburton Pool' fund to help with future developments.
The pool is open daily from May through to Early September. Please be aware that there is limited access for some wheelchair users.
To find the pool take the St.Lawrence Lane turn off from East Street (B3352). At the end of St.Lawrence Lane, turn left into Love Lane. The pool is located at the end of the lane by the Primary School.
