Attraction Information

For legendary thrill rides, there isn’t really anywhere quite like Alton Towers, a Merlin Entertainment theme park and Alton Towers Resort! One of the UK’s favourite theme parks, that guarantees frights, delights, screams and giggles leaving you with sore cheeks! From Spinball Whizzer, Hex, Wicker Man and CBeebies Land to Alton Towers Waterpark, Alton Towers Spa and much more!

Rides and Attractions
The UK’s favourite theme park is home to a huge choice of over 40 iconic rides and attractions - so there’s something for everyone, whether you like the little thrills or adrenaline-pumping rides!  Try the fan favourite The Smiler… home to the world’s first 14-loop rollercoaster! A twisting track that hits speeds of 80km and a track 3x longer than the jaw-dropping Oblivion. A rollercoaster with a vertical drop into a cloud-filled chasm, can you hack the drop? Need for speed? Try out Rita, a hydraulically launched steel sit-down coaster, one of the best thrill coasters at Alton Towers, and the UK’s 5th fastest rollercoaster! Going from 0-100mph real quick, your hair will be plastered back and you won’t even have time to scream before you’re back.
Are you a fan of horror and the unknown? Try out the Wicker Man...wood and fire - is that a good combination? The Wicker Man is one of the latest additions to Alton Towers and a huge hit! Or head to The Gloomy Wood and tackle the theme park's dark ride, Th13teen if that's more up your street, as the world’s first vertical free fall drop rollercoaster. You won’t even know when it happens…but as they say ‘if you go down to the woods today you’d better not go alone’. Can you escape The Wraith creatures, a darkness that is set to trap you… Find out and we’ll see you on the other side. But wait...did you know there's a NEW horror ride this year? Introducing... The Curse at Alton Manor. A haunting dark ride that takes you on a hair-raising journey, coupled with terrifying twists and turns. Can you come out on the other side?

Did you think we were finished yet? Absolutely not! With a rollercoaster adventure - Alton Towers has plenty to offer, you'll be here all day and then some! If you're looking for something fun and whacky, try the Spinball Whizzer - Alton Towers ride, it's super crazy and will have you feeling dizzy but all in the name of fun! The Alton Towers Dungeon is another dark ride that will have you exploring the depths of the dungeon on a 45-minute experience, where you'll discover 6 themed areas, 5 shows and a boat ride. Love ocean life? Head to Sharkbait Reef for some aquatic fun.

From exploring sea life, with a huge collection of Blacktip sharks, chocolate chip starfish, spotted stingrays and the UK's first Tropical Interactive Pool - you'll leave knowing more about the ocean and the beauty of its creatures. The Retro Squad is also the newest addition to Alton Towers Resort this year with a theme park ride offering funky thrills and delights! From the Spinjam, Funk'n'Fly to the Roller Disco. You'll be spinning around and having a groovy time with all the interactive features on the newest major roller coaster project.

Water Rides at Alton Towers
Now, if you're in need of a cool-off, then take a splash at Alton Towers water coaster, Congo River Rapids. Drift along the river before getting drenched in water as you spin and bump around corners. Nobody will leave dry! But if you want more...and believe one day isn't enough, then you can always stay at Splash Landings an Alton Towers Hotel! During your stay here, not only will you make fantastic Alton Towers memories at the water park, but you'll also get to play a round of 9-hole Extraordinary Golf! The water park has a whole host of splash-tastic rides. From the Flash Floods flume ride to Bubbly Wubbly pool, Master Blaster water slide and much much more child-friendly features and slides!

Little Thrills and Attractions
We haven't forgotten about the little ones though, because there are plenty of small thrills and giggles at Alton Towers, with a visit to CBeebies Land and CBeebies Land Hotel! With 15 selected rides and attractions for the tiny tots, they’ll spend a day of excitement here and they can meet all their favourite characters, including the GO Jetters, Igglepiggle and Postman Pat, plus don't miss the Teletubbies live show! The Something Special Sensory Garden is the perfect place for kiddies that thrive on sensory attractions. They can follow Mr Tumble’s spotty bag trail and be on the lookout for special objects dotted around the woodland, for some interactive experiences. Do your kids love cars and fancy themselves a bit of a driver? Well, head on down to Cuckoo Cars Driving School, where they can take the wheel of teeny cars and show off their super-cool style in Cloud Cuckoo Land! There are 30 cars to travel in, so your kids have plenty of choices and meet all the cool characters. And at Cuckoo Cars Driving school, they'll be driving in the hottest wheels around!

Ready for the rides? CBeebies Land is home to the In the Night Garden Magical Boat Ride, journey through the real Night Garden and meet your favourite characters along the way! If your kids love imaginative play, then start off your day on the Get Set Go Treetop Adventure, where you can wake the sleeping bugs and set off your ride together. Don’t forget about the Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure too, where you can join Captain Barnacles and his crew as they head to Alton Towers on their rollercoaster adventure. Then join the mischievous Peter Rabbit on his Hippity Hop ride - fly to new heights and unleash your inner bunny. And help Postman Pat deliver his packages, as you drive along in his red van!
Whether you're a hotel or non-hotel guest, one thing's for sure, Alton Towers is a thrilling adventure, whatever the weather!
