Built by William the Conqueror in the 11th Century, Windsor Castle is now a residence of our Royal family. Extensively remodelled, an audio tour will take you through 900 years of history. The castle itself covers 13 acres and the entrance includes the State Apartments, which hold fine art from Rembrandt, Rubens and more, St George’s Chapel where 10 monarchs are buried and a precinct tour and will be a highlight of any Windsor family day out.
Make the most out of being so near to the River Thames on a Windsor Duck Tour. It may look like you’re boarding a road vehicle for a drive around the streets of the city but hold on to your hats as it splashes down into the river to give you unique views of the castle and Eton. Live guides will ensure you get the most out of this unique, amphibious tour!
If you’d prefer a more traditional boat trip then French Brothers Boats Windsor will take you on a leisurely jaunt up the river. You can choose from short distances or a full day trip.
It may be hard to suggest a trip to Windsor to the children without mentioning LEGOLAND. A full day out in itself and just two miles outside the city it has over 50 interactive rides, shows, workshops, a driving school and, of course, a lot of Lego!
