Velocity - the world's fastest zip line

The headline experience and one of the most iconic adventures in the UK. Velocity sends you flying at speeds of 100mph+ across Penrhyn Quarry in a head-first, forward-facing position with nothing but the bright blue lake below and the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) stretching out around you. The full experience takes around 2 hours from check-in to finish and includes two separate zip zones connected by a truck ride up the mountain, with four parallel lines so you can go alongside family or friends.

Minimum height 1.2m, maximum height 2.03m. Minimum weight 29kg, maximum weight 130kg. Under 18s require one participating adult (18+) for every three children.

Quarry Karts

Hurtle down the old quarry tracks in a three-wheeled kart with sweeping views across the site. A brilliant option for older children and teenagers looking for something different from a zip line. Minimum age 15, minimum height 1.2m, maximum weight 130kg. Under 18s require one participating adult (18+) for every four children.

Aero Explorer

Fly along a 400m overhead track across the quarry in a seated harness - two rides included. A slightly less intense introduction to aerial adventures with the same jaw-dropping quarry views. Height requirement: 1.25m to 1.93m, weight 30kg to 110kg. Under 18s require one spectating adult (18+) for every seven children.

Quarry Flyer

Two side-by-side zip lines across two 100m zip zones - the perfect introduction for younger or more nervous visitors. Sessions last up to 45 minutes. Minimum height 1m, maximum weight 100kg. Under 18s require one spectating adult (18+) for every five children.

Penrhyn Quarry Tour

A guided tour of the historic slate quarry, exploring the buildings and structures that have stood since the height of the site's working life. The most accessible option for all ages and abilities, and the best way to understand the World Heritage Site setting you're standing in. No height or weight restrictions - check the booking calendar for available dates and times.

Facilities

Zip World Penrhyn Quarry has everything you need for a full day out:

• Blondin Restaurant - a modern on-site restaurant with floor-to-ceiling views across the quarry. Open for full meals, quick bites and drinks before or after your adventure

• Viewing Terrace - the prime spot for non-participants and spectators to watch the action unfold

• Gift Shop - pick up a Zip World memento before you leave

• Souvenir Videos - available for selected adventures

• Coin-operated Lockers - secure your belongings while you're on the adventure

• On-site Parking - parking charges apply

• Dog Friendly - well-behaved dogs are welcome on site but must be accompanied by a non-participating adult at all times

• The site is completely cashless - card and contactless only
• Lockers are available for £1 to store belongings during activities
• Spectator viewing areas are available throughout the site
• Well-behaved dogs are welcome on leads - doggy daycare is also available on site if you'd prefer your dog looked after while you take part
• Arrive 30 minutes before your activity start time for check-in
