Attraction Information

Did you know there are 6 adventures available at Zip World Slate Caverns? Bounce below ground level, embark on Deep Mine Tour, swing from a 30ft drop on the Big Red, or race your family on Europe's first four-person zip line! You can also play golf in the underground caverns or explore the historic slate caverns via rope bridges and tightropes...

Now you've had a brief taster of what's in store, we bet you're hungry for the full details. Let's jump head first into each epic attraction at Zip World Slate Caverns...

Things to do
Zip World Slate Caverns is home to amazing adventures for the whole family above and below ground. Kick off your action-packed day out with a ride on Zip World Titan 2 - the largest zip zone in Europe. It’s a 4-person zip line, so you can race your kids (ages 7+) over the stunning views of the landscape. Get strapped in on the Alpha, Bravo and Charlie lines and get ready for some serious thrills!

Then, it’s time to go below ground and take on the Caverns (ages 10+) - a unique underground course in a slate mine disused for over 200 years. You’ll fly over 11 zip wires, traverse rope bridges and climb the monkey bars in an exhilarating 3-hour challenge. Don’t fancy having a go at the monkey bars? There's an alternative route!

Underground you’ll also find Bounce Below - a one-of-a-kind subterranean playground for kids aged 7+, where you little ones will be playing, sliding, bouncing and jumping in a cathedral-sized cavern.

Looking for a fun activity at a much slower pace? Putt your way peacefully around the most unique adventure golf courses in the UK. Take on the 18-hole course, set 500 ft below the ground in a disused cavern, and only accessible by Europe’s steepest cable railway. This underground adventure is illuminated by an impressive light display and interactive elements which stretch across 4 floors. Despite the course being underground, the weather conditions are relatively warm at 7°C so make sure to dress sensibly. When you get to the end of the course you can set off a bunch of explosives to celebrate, Bond style.

Have you got 1.25 hours spare? Spend it soaking up the past in the Deep Mine Tour. Transport yourselves back to the 19th Century, 500 ft down in Llechwedd’s fascinating past. Climb aboard Europe's steepest railway and learn about this iconic mine's 16 underground levels. Uncover the stories of former miners and see world-class slate. Develop a very real understanding of the local men and children who risked their lives everyday to provide for their families. The tour is available in English and Welsh.

What better way to finish your action-packed adventure than taking on the Big Red... This mini zip line is 300 feet long, 10 metres high, and has 2 zip lines to glide down. To put its size into perspective, the zipline is the same length as an American football pitch! Did you know it hosts 120 riders per hour? Sheeesh! An adrenaline rush + beautiful views = endorphin central, am I right?

Are you ready to plan your next aerial adventure? Whether you are after some zip line training, amazing quarry views, adrenaline activities, an all-weather activity, or you want to learn about the iconic slate caverns first hand, Zip World Slate Caverns is the ultimate adventure for families!

Psst! Keep your eyes and ears alert for exciting seasonal events. The latest spine-chilling adventure was the Monsters of the Mine Halloween event and it was wild! Scary clowns and devilish monsters lurking around every corner of the cavern is a dream for hardcore adrenaline hunters. If you are after something a little more lighthearted there are also magical Christmas events too, to illuminate your Winter.
