Yorks Chocolate Story
Discover the history of chocolate, find out what makes York chocolate so deliciously special and enjoy a range of neat chocolate treats along the way with a trip to the new Chocolate Making Station!
From the Quaker roots of chocolate’s founding families to the world-wide phenomenon that is Kit Kat, they’ll take you on a Wonka-esque journey through the wonderful sweets and treats that came from the great city of York.
It's a lot!
Journey through their interactive chocolate experience and discover first-hand how their unique ingredients are roasted, crushed, mixed and moulded to make delicious York chocolate… It's educational but so much fun that your fascinated little Oompa Loompas will never know they're learning.
Then get hands on and make your own chocolates at the chocolate making station in the Factory Zone! Pay attention parents because we guarantee you'll end up trying this again at home! It's a great chance to get creative and happily there's no talent required to turn out a smashing treat. Not that you'll be looking at it long before eating it, most likely!
Plus now a brand new exhibition is available to help you and your family explore the contribution that the people of York have made to the city's great chocolate industry. A great way of adding even more education to the day and brilliant for supporting school work.
Schools and groups can access additional workshops and educational resources, so it's well worth mentioning around the classroom too.
