Wotton Pool
Wotton-under-Edge, GloucestershireAbout Wotton Pool
Wotton Pool is a long established heated outdoor swimming facility with a great transparent cover over it that is open at either end to retain the open air feel. This retractable enclosure is drawn back for open air swimming in good weather, but kept closed when it is cold. It is open from April onwards and through the summer months.
The pool is 18m (20 yards) long, 6m (20') wide, and goes from 1m (3'3”) in the shallow end, to just over 2m (6'6”) at the deep end. The water is heated to 28 to 30 degrees Celsius (82.4 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit), so you don't need to worry about any one catching a chill. There are separate male and female, open plan changing rooms, toilets, and external hot showers to use.
Please be aware that children under 8 years old will need to be accompanied by a competent swimmer aged 16 or older. Also, children who are not fully out of nappies will need to wear a swim nappy. The whole pool can also be booked out (lifeguard included) for a family get together or a cool kid's pool party. Beat that, limp bouncy castle!
