Wildwood

"what are we doing today?"

Wildwood runs a host of animal-themed family fun activities during school holidays and special visitor events throughout the year – check out our website events list for details.

These could include meeting a hand-reared owl, learning to speak wolf, testing your forensic skills to solve a wildlife crime or coming to our autumn pyjama party to celebrate hibernation.

Lots of hands on craft activities are included so you will have plenty to take home with you – not just memories. Animal talks and feeds run at weekends and during the holidays.

"i'm hungry"

"are we there yet?"

Wildwood is on the A291 Canterbury to Herne Bay road. Either turn off the A299 at Herne Bay on to the A291 (we are 3 miles ahead) or the A28 at Sturry on to the A291 (we are 2.3 miles from the junction). Nos 4 and 6 buses stop outside (request stops). Special deal for bus and cycle visitors in 2007 (please contact us for details).

...got any top tips?

You’re coming for a walk in the woods; if it’s rained, we’ll have puddles, so be prepared. Bring wellies and waterproofs, or sun hats if hot. Buggy and wheelchair friendly throughout, but the woodland paths can get soft and muddy in very wet weather.
